Leon Raath
Léon is a Chartered Accountant with additional specialisation in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and the first Honorary Professor of Supply Chain management (Department of Business Management - University of Pretoria)
He has been a Judge for the Logistics Achiever Awards for over 20 years. Léon has broad experience and specialisation in: - Prime for twenty-four years in Supply chain management/logistics, operations management, Procurement, Operational risk management, Governance and initiatives including large ERP systems implementations across the supply chain space; Secondary for fifteen years in auditing and finance.
Some initiatives were globally acknowledged as a "global reference site" spanning hundred plus countries and other referenced as ‘’this is a benchmark or standard of excellence in warehousing and distribution" in university logistics text book.
He has spoken at many conferences including in the United States of America and Malaysia.
Mike Johnston
Qualifications: B.Sc. (Cape Town), MBA (Wits), Certificate & Advanced Certificate in Transportation (RAU), CSCP (ASCM)
Experience: Operations Manager & Groups Operations Manager at D&H Transport (including Tanker Services, D&H Freight Lines & Omnibus Transport)
Consulting & Training in Transport, Distribution, Logistics & Supply Chain Management for the past 35 years.
Been a Judge on the LAA since 1989
Khavitha Singh
Khavitha Singh is the Toyota Head of Lean Management at Toyota Wessels Institute for Manufacturing Studies (TWIMS). She is an adjunct faculty member at GIBS. She teaches on MBA Electives, Executive short courses and Masterclasses focusing on Lean operations management, Lean supply chains, Hoshin Kanri and Leadership behaviours that create Psychological safe teams. In addition, she also supervises students for Applied Business Projects and Research dissertations.
She is currently a Director at the Amekh Group –a company focusing on Operations excellence, Quality management systems and Lean transformation capability development. In addition, she is also a founder of Moja Leadership-a leadership development organization focused on developing skills through a variety of experience-based learning opportunities.
She has extensive experience within Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Logistics and Consulting industries within the spaces of Lean Leadership, Operations Excellence, Continuous Improvement and Strategic Project Management in South Africa, Mozambique and Germany.
During her career she has been employed by Aspen Pharmacare, Johnson & Johnson, BP South Africa, and Barloworld Nike CSC in various roles. She has also been a Lean coach for the Lean Institute Africa and, has also served on the University of Cape Town – Graduate School of Business (UCT- GSB) - MBA Admission board as an alumnus. She has also been a Gender Mainstreaming Positive role model finalist in the Business Engage/Accenture awards and has served as judge for African Business Heroes.
Khavitha has an MBA from UCT GSB, Advanced leadership qualification from NMU Business School and a B. Pharm from Rhodes University. She is currently completing a PHD – focusing on Leadership behaviours that create psychological safety amongst management teams.
She has a passion for leadership development (with a particular interest in inclusion), lean transformation journeys and lean leadership that foster collaboration and co – creation in the corporate environment.

Dr Faith Mashele
Dr Faith is a Chartered Procurement & Supply Professional (MCIPS) and a Fellow (FCIPS) of the Chartered Institute of Procurement Supply (UK). Her professional journey of 20 years in the private and public sector, spans the banking, consulting, development finance, education and information technology industries.
She has supervised MBA and Doctoral research and continues to leverage her diverse experience in practice, to teach, facilitate and explore her research interests including, sustainable supply chains and inclusive business as a dynamic approach for facilitating access to markets for SMEs. In addition to her academic experience, Dr Faith regularly presents at conferences and speaking engagements with corporates where she thrives on using storytelling as a conduit for organisational transformation and innovation.
Prior to joining her alma mater, the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) as faculty, Dr Faith served as the Head: Procurement Centre of Excellence (COE) at Nedbank, the Financial Director: Expenditure at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and had gained formative work experience at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). Her track record as a Procurement Executive led her to receive recognition across various platforms including 2021 Top 100 Most Influential Supply Chain Women in Africa and the 2021 TrussFDN list of 18 Exemplary Female Supply Chain Practitioners in Africa. She currently serves as the Chairperson of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Gauteng Branch Committee.

Dawid Janse van Rensburg
Dawid is an enthusiastic supply chain consultant, and his passion is to help build ever-flourishing companies!
He has been doing this for the past 20 years and worked on more than 50 supply chain projects in South Africa and the UK. Most of the projects centred around the implementation of a supply chain management system, which enables the Theory of Constraints solutions. He presented many papers on IT, engineering, and supply chain strategy locally and overseas.
Dawid and his team received five Logistics Achiever Awards over the years for projects that they delivered successfully.
Archie Vermeulen
Archie has in excess of 25 years Warehousing and Supply Chain experience most of which was gained while he served as Executive Head of Logistics for both Vodacom (19 years) and Cell C (6 years).
During his tenure at Vodacom and Cell C he was instrumental in the design, set up and go live of the warehousing and logistics operations, as well as ensuring the People, Processes, and Systems required were delivered to the SLA’s set for External Customers as well as Internal Customers.
Archie’s background is in Retail having previously worked for Teljoy / MasterCare, Checkers, Makro and Score Discount Foods in various Management positions.
